THE STORY

Aruku Akumu (translated as “Walking Nightmare”) follows the journey of a possessed samurai battling demons to regain his mortality. Set against the backdrop of early feudal Japan, this epic tale blends dark fantasy with supernatural horror. As the samurai faces insurmountable odds, he must confront not only the demons of the underworld but also the demons within himself. This series pays homage to the 1980s black-and-white indie comics explosion and Japanese samurai horror films of the 1950s and 1960s.
